Hi Tech Transmission
Dave & Heidi Hix 4942 Old Stage Rd. Central Point, Or 97502 Dave & Heidi Hix Dave and Heidi Hix have been sponsors for a while now. They sponsor not only half of this domain, but they have donated used equipment and taken part in special individual projects. They are both wonderful people and their transmission shop is regarded by most as the best in the area. You always get quality work at Hi Tech and at prices you can afford. They also do custom transmission work as well. When you show up at Hi Tech you know you have met a friend in the business. Dave Hix's racing career began in 1973, when his brothers and a few friends pitched in to help him build a 12 second 64 Nova. A 1969 Camaro followed, running in the 11's, which inspired them to build an injected altered that ran in the 8.40's. That led to a rear engine Top Gas Dragster that produced several 7 second timeslips. After the purchase of a blown Alcohol Funny Car in 1987 that ran low 7's. Dave was genuinly thrilled when his next Funny Car got into the low 6's and qualified at the NHRA national event in Seattle. That dream burst with a crash at Woodburn. However Dave and the gang were excited enough to build their curent ride, this 32 Austin Bateman roadster AA/Fuel Altered. Talk about a rus;. In 2002, they made 4 test passes in Medford before going on to Sacremento and WINNING the Gold Rush Nitro Nationals and setting a standing record, with a 5.70 at 244mph, designating Mr. Hix little Bantam as the fastest single mag Fuel Altered in the country. Just last year they were invited to Spokan, Washington to compete in the World Finals, qualifying #3. The next week, they qualified #1 in Boise, Idaho and went on to win the finals at the Nightfire Nationals there. According to Dave none of these thrills would be possible if it wern't for the people who have helped along the way: Jon Ruff (JR's Wrench Works), Ronnie Mankins, Roger Ponder, and Darrell Hix. A special tribute to Daves wife Heidi and daughters Alisha and Sara, who have been there and supported him from the beginning. |
