Our computer donation project is designed to help people in need that have no other way to get a reconditioned PC. It is the project of the Efnet Internet chat room #Cancer-survivors. Fortunately we have many participants in the program that have donated cash for operating systems and shipping once in a while and several people donating parts and used machines for reconditioning. All of the pc's donated have a minimum of a 40 gig hard drive or a pair of 20 gig hard drives. They are all P3 1000MHz or Athlon 1gig cpu's with 512 megs of ram going on the machines that have windows 2000 pro on them and 1 gig of ram on the machines that have either version of windows xp on them. They are fully loaded with free software like Open Office Org, free anti virus and antispyware. They include tools for burning cds or dvd's whichever they are equipped with, and tools for making mp3's. We also donate monitors and printers when we get them, but we can't afford to ship monitors unless they are lcd and working. The older crt monitors are to costly to ship and dispose of when bad.

Special thanks go to the members of #Cancer-survivors, who have facilitated the donations and helped a huge amount with donated parts.
Special thanks go to all of our sponsors especially Hi-Tech Transmission and John's Wrench works for sponsoring our domain and Hi-Tech especially for helping out in special individual projects.

Special thanks to Marquess & Associates Engineering Consultants for their contribution of many used machines and parts.

This is not a business tax free or otherwise, the people that help us contribute because they can and ask nothing in return. Most will frown on being mentioned at all because thats just the type of people that they are.
The computers go to patients that can't afford a pc for on line support, Single mom's and dad's with kids in school. Students from high school on up who cannot afford a machine for their education. Elderly people so that they can communicate with their family and kids by voice or email. I think is the case of elderly we all know how lonely they can get when they live away from most of their family and kids.

We try with the program to help anyone we can. So far this year we are at 25 machines. Last year we did a total of 28 and the year before we did 25. We are going to have the best year ever and continue to grow. We do have an additional helper here locally Brian Cox who assists in donations and building.

Regretfully we cannot afford to help people with freight when shipping us used parts. It's all we can do to pay for operating systems and shipping to the recipients. I pay a great deal of shipping costs and operating systems out of pocket.
