Welcome Everyone
On this website you will find support and understanding from others with the same illnesses. Some of the channels are new and just starting and some are well established channels. In any of the channels that you go to be sure to hang around for a little while so you can catch other members, just jumping in and out doesn't get the chats started at all. We have found that talking to others in the same boat that understand really helps a lot.
Here are some interesting quotes someone wrote that I think applies to us and our friends.
Triumphs without difficulties are empty. Indeed, it is the difficulties that make the triumph. It is no feat to travel the smooth road.
When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road your trudging seems all uphill
When funds are low and debts are highand you want to smile, but you have to sigh
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit
Life is queer with its twists and turns as everyone one of us sometimes learns, and many a failure turns about, when he might have won had he stuck it out
Don't give up though the pace seems slow, you may succeed with another blow
It is when things seem worst that you must not quit.
About the channels
#cancer-survivors is a channel that has been around for 14+ years and has helped a lot of people. Ron aka `Bear is the channel manager of that channel. He has been a member for 14 years.
#chronicPain is a new channel that we are starting with linda aka Adina as channel manager and has already helped some.
#Fibro Is a long standing channel being restarted on efnet, it was on undernet for many years. The manager of that channel is Vvelox
#40chitchat is an established channel managed by Budro, one of our fun groups
#40+EZgoing is also one of our fun channels team managed
#BudsChatroom is also a fun group that is established
Accessing The Channels
To access the channels, you need to install a IRC client. A good free one is Chatzilla. Some good shareware ones are XChat and mirc. Once you have either of those installed you can click on the chat links to the left and it will automatically open up the client and join those channels on EFNet.
